Please take a few seconds to pass this on.

Reblogging this again because 17 notes does not cut it. This needs more notes. No one is safe in the world. NO ONE!

Another trans* woman of color murdered, and there was NO mainstream media coverage.
Let that sink in.
I’m from Philly, and I did not find a single mention of her on any of the main news stations.
Fuck anyone who dares say trans* women of color are not oppressed, or that they have some magical privilege.
Yeah, being shot in the head and then having your death completely fucking ignored is such a fucking privilege.

Hey all!
I know this isn’t history related, but it’s super important and very very pressing. My girlfriend and I found this cat two night ago, underfed and not neutered.
He’s super friendly, loves people, is calm and low-key. He rolls over and lets your rub his belly and enjoys curling up on laps. Legitimately, this is the sweetest cat I’ve ever met. Good with kids and adults alike—just a gentle spirit all around. We took him into the ACCT to be neutered, vaccinated and tested. We were ready to bring him home today when we got the devastating news that he tested positive for FIV, sort of like the feline equivalent of HIV. The shelter said they’re going to put him down because he poses a risk to other cats.
I can’t take him owning two healthy cats of my own and therefore, the shelter claims he has no where to go. He’s perfectly healthy right now, but might require a bit more love in the future.
Please, please! If any of you guys knows someone in the Philadelphia area who doesn’t have a pet but has been interested in owning a beautiful, middle aged INDOOR cat, please contact me or the ACCT of Philadelphia (267)385-3800 ASAP. His shelter name is PRANKS and you could refer to him by that.
Please spread the word, I’m not sure how long he has.

This is a screenshot of Philadelphia from the “Mapping America Project“—an amazing and interactive project done by the “New York Times” that uses Census data to show the racial breakdown of every neighborhood in America.
The racial segregation in Philadelphia and the suburbs is pretty amazing to see in map form, and it certainly explains a lot about why things are they way they are in Philadelphia.

I’ve seen images from this project all around the web but never with any credit! It’s called “A Love Letter for you” and it is a project by Stephen Powers with the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program and is sponsored by the Pew Center for Arts & Heritage through the Philadelphia Exhibitions Initiative. Generous support provided by the Brownstein Group and Septa.
Kinda wish it were in my city!

My city sort of has it perks
Only reblogging cause its the TLA.

HEY! This is located in the Northern Liberties neighborhood of Philadelphia. I’ve seen this sign countless times…The Random Tea Room is located right near one of my favorite Philly restaurants, Honey’s Sit’n’Eat, and is a nice place to rest while waiting for your table (and in general).

This isnt too far from me! Must visit.
